Based on Anita Loos’s 1925 bestseller of the same title, GENTLEMEN PREFER BLONDES follows Lorelei Lee, a blonde from Little Rock, Arkansas, who sails to Europe with her friend Dorothy to perform in a nightclub in Paris.



GENTLEMEN PREFER BLONDES played for 740 performances on Broadway at the Ziegfeld Theatre starring Carol Channing, Yvonne Adair, Jack McCauley, Eric Brotherson and George S. Irving. The show was revived on Broadway in 1995 at the Lyceum Theatre starring KT Sullivan.

Abell Auction Co. has announced a June 17 online-only auction of Broadway legend Carol Channing's estate. The auction will feature will feature Broadway memorabilia, Tony Awards and Channing's belongings.

The Broadway community mourns the loss of Carol Channing, a Tony Award winner and theatrical legend, who passed away on Tuesday, January 15 at age 97. To commemorate her life and work, the Committee of Theatre Owners will dim the lights of Broadway theatres in New York for one minute on Wednesday, January 16 at exactly 7:45pm.
